    New Mexico’s IOF Program attempts to reduce waste and increase energy efficiency in the mining and forestry products industries. The major goal of IOF is to identify opportunities for cost-savings through pollution prevention and energy efficiency in New Mexico by forming partnerships composed of local industry, academia, national laboratories and government.

What is Industries of the Future (IOF)?

A Department of Energy funded program that brings together industry, academia, and state agencies to address industrial energy efficiency and pollution prevention. These public-private coalitions facilitate industry solutions locally and enhance economic development.

What is the goal of New Mexico’s IOF?

To deliver the IOF program in New Mexico by forming partnerships composed of local industry, academia, national laboratories and government.

What are our focus industries?

Mining and forest products. These industries were selected because of their high energy use, opportunities for pollution prevention and important role in New Mexico’s economic development.
